Power Transformer Shipped Dry - Air or Nitrogen 1

We have a power transformer that the manufacturer wants to ship dry. They plan to use dry air rather than nitrogen for shipping. It will have a nitrogen system after it is installed.

I expected nitrogen to be used and I'm curious as to the reason for using dry air as opposed to pure dry nitrogen. Is is simply a cost issue?

if the assembly crew is going inside the transformer to do internal connections or internal inspection, then the transformer is shipped with dry air.

Thanks - I can understand that safety concern, but there should be no need for internal inspection or connections, at least that I am aware of. Except maybe for the bushings...

Bottom connected bushings require access, but enclosed space access rules apply regardless of how the transformer was prepared for shipment.

Ship with dry air. After internal work is complete, vacuum fill, then break the vacuum with nitrogen.

Even if no internal work is intended, the dry air is a better deal, just in case.
