Dear Gents,
We have one PQR: P.No 1 Gr.1 weld P.No 1 Gr.2 So Can we write WPS: P.No 1 Gr.1 weld to P.No 1 Gr.1, P.No1 Gr.2 weld to P.No1 Gr.2? Require CVN test, Follow ASME IX

Assuming that you have impact test qualified your Gr 1 to Gr 2 procedure and included both HAZ's in your qualification testing, YES.

Hi Stanweld,
The sample, I use electrode ER70S-6 to weld API 5L X52 (Gr.1) with API 5L X65 (Gr.2).This PQR passed (CVN test both HAZ's, tensile: 460 MPA meet acceptance criteria Gr.1 but not meet acceptance criterial Gr.2 "530MPA"). So We will weld API 5l X65 to API 5L X65 by electrode ER70S-6. This is difficult understand??

The acceptance criteria for Grade 2 does not have to be met as well. The requirement is to meet the minimum tensile for the weaker of the 2 (see QW-153.1(b)).

There may be Owners who would question the ability of ER70S-6 to provide the minimum strength of X65. Because I have qualified X65 to X65 with ER70S-6 and have witnessed others do the same and meet the X65 MSTS, I would accept. And, as per Mosely, you have qualified the WPS per ASME IX.
