I need to put together a preliminary cost estimate for a pre-cast parking structure.

Does anyone know of any good resources where I can find cost data?

We have been asked to provide a conceptual layout and some preliminary cost data so that our client (governmental agency) can allocate money next year.

The proposed parking structure would be:

[ul]
[li]Single story (see image below)[/li]
[li]Approximately 250' x 157' = 39,250 sq. ft.[/li]
[li]Constructed in South Texas and in a salty environment (~200ft from the beach)[/li]
[/ul]

Thank you in advance!

I unfortunately don't have the reference you're after, however we just had an in-house PD session about pre-cast parkades. Our environment is punishing for different reasons (central prairies of Canada). The life-cycle costs of precast parkades compared with cast-in-place are essentially equal if the proper amount of maintenance is being done. We are part of projects doing repair/maintenance on pre-cast parkades and the volume of joint sealant replacements would boggle your mind. It's miles of joints in a parkade that require annual review and semi-regular replacement.

So I guess what I'm saying is, ensure to advise your client on the maintenance costs of a pre-cast parkade versus cast-in-place. There are tons of pre-cast parkades, the capital cost compared to cast-in-place is a no brainer, I get it. But lifecycle costing may be important to the client.

No, but if well designed, you should have about 130 parking stalls, each level...[ponder]

Best way would be to talk to the local precaster's that will bid it. See if they can give you a sf cost, etc. At least that way you wont be surprised when you find out you are way off.
