Hi all -
This is my first post here. I've spent some time looking thru old posts, but nothing:
here's my question-
I'm looking for the formula to calculate the first 2 critical loads for a prestressed column ('diamond' cable stays / central lateral strut / slender column)
I'm working off this paper I have "stability analysis and parametric study of pre-stressed stayed columns" by Chan et al, 2000.... really riveting stuff and all! and there is some hand-waiving on the included example problems.

I think the answer may be in 'Eurocode' or maybe even in Roarks?...both of which I dont have access to right now!
anyone with any direction here would help me out greatly before I get too much more grey hairs on this one.

Google seems to be leaving me high and dry on this one.

oh - this is for a FE validation/geometry sheet I am putting together for racing sailboats applications-

Thanks in advance -
