Hi, everybody
I am designing precast concrete balconies supported by two adjacente edges. Continuous steel angle backed by W steel beam is provided along the two adjacent edges. The typical balcony has a dimension of 15'-6" x 6'-10" x 8". Another balcony is supported by two and half sides with a dimension of 19'-6"x10'-10"x8". If I use moment connections, two each side, hugh moment will be induced from dead load and live load. I am trying to use simple connection to avoid the moment but the worry of safety and deflection of the balcony gives me headache.
Does anyone have any kind of opinions and experiences about this topic?
Your help is highly appreciated.
