Hi all,
I'm a materials engineer by degree, but I'm starting to get into using FEA on simple components. Currently I'm using the linear FEA solver on Autodesk Inventor, and so far it has been really useful for predicting when a part will yield under load. I'd like to take my analysis to the next level, and predict with some level of confidence the amount of load at fracture since the parts that I'm testing are load rated at fracture. I understand that without a non-linear solver for ductile material this won't be entirely accurate, but I'm wondering if anyone has come up with ways to estimate this using a linear solver?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
