Hi Memebers,

I have a couple of questions in relation to Max Allowable Operating Pressure and Saftey Valve (PRD) calculations.

As per ASME B16.5: 2.Pressure Temperature Ratings/2.5 System Hydrostatic Test. It states that "Flanged joints and flanged fittings may be subjected to hydrostatic tests at a pressure not to exceed 1.5 times the 100°F rating rounded off to the next higher 25 Psi"

My questions are:

1.Can I apply this same rule to the Max Allowable Operating Pressure Calc (For Pipe)? If so, where is the clause located in the ASME B31.3 Code?

2. Can I apply this same rule to the Safety Valve (PRD) set pressure Calc? If so, where is the clause located in the ASME B31.3 code?

Reason: If I am able to round off to next higher 25 Psi. I would like to provide a note under the calculation section stating that the 'Actual' pressures calculated have been rounded off to the next higher 25 Psi, As per ASME B31.3 Clause Etc. Etc.

I appreciate any help you could provide.

Thanks for the comment stanweld. After I wrote this, I did some searching online and found the answer.
