Pressure Regulator

We currently have two EZR Fisher regulators connected in series, regulating Natural Gas pressure. It it normal that there is no straight run of piping before or after the regulators. Documentation makes no mention of this. There is a small (only about 4 pipe diameters) for the pilot control line though.

Are you asking if there is a requirement for straight upstream and downstream piping run similar to that specified for flowmeters? If so, the answer is no. The reason flow meters meet this straight run of piping (and/or flow conditioners) is to ensure there is no remaining swirl or pressure disturbances in the fluid induced by upstream/downstream fittings.

For regulators, because you are controlling the pressure, swirl is not a problem.

thanks, i will assume turbulence is not an issue then for the regulators.
