Pressure vessel Design 1

Hi All,

I have to design the U-stamp vessel. The design condition of the vessel is 205 barg & 100 degree Celsius. For this condition, can i do the vessel design as per Div-I?? It's possible??

 

The answers are in the Code, but the question betrays you as a novice.
Please advise your supervisor to retain an experienced designer for this very high pressure vessel.

Lots of things are "possible", but that doesn't mean that they are the most economical.

You have been provided with excellent advice already. I suggest you follow that advice.

Although paragraph U-1(d) of ASME Section VIII Div. 1 states that the methods used in the Code were developed for vessels not exceeding 3,000 psi, there is actually no upper limit placed on the allowable design pressures in Section VIII Div. 1.
