The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

You can use it whenever you want with the indicated limits.

Hi Mr/Mrs

I have a question regarding weld seam lack of clear description on UG-34(j)of ASME BPVE set. VIII div.1 as attached.
UG-34_j_qwpquw.jpg

The dimensions 'a' & 'b' are quite clear from the figure. But the dimension 'c' come out of nowhere. If the seam is fillet weld, this 'c' means the weld throat. What does this dimension 'c' mean in weld seam with complex cut-out on the tubesheet? hope someone can help to explain to me. Thanks ahead!

Mike_Ca, it is the throat dimension of the "imaginary" fillet weld. BTW your reference should be "Fig UW-13.2(j)".

Also it is customary to start a new thread for a new question.

Regards,

Mike
