Can some one help me? I am using CATIA V5R7 SP2 and Prismatic machining, our problem is the NC code generator will not produce a circle or a corner radiuses, all I get is X and Y moves. We tried every conceivable option we can find. We still get a bunch of straight-line moves. In normal circumstances, the output should be only 8 moves but we get 30-40 straight-line moves.

Have you tried "Forced circular" under "Type of contour" when you create the operation?

Yes, I tried "Forced circular" "Optimize", and "Angular"

When creating the NC Code in the Options Tab try using Z-Axis Circles/ Any Axis circles instead of Automatic.
Hope this helps.

I tried all 4 options under "Type of contour". I also tried " Automatic, None, Z-axis circle and, Any axis circles under NC Data Option, nothing seems to help. When I run "point by point replay of tool path" even before posting I can see CATIA breaks the radii into many X, Y moves no I or J. I contacted one of our IBM repetitive he could not help me either. If you do not have this problem with your CATIA I would love to hear form you again.

Thank you,

Try in machining settings to put Min Radius compensation = 0,01mm
Max Radius compensation = 10000mm

Hope this helps

Bye
