I've been asked to design a small bridge in an industrial complex. It'll be two span and presumably have some truck traffic. It does not need to adhere to dot standards. What design standard would you use for this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

More info:

The structural system will probably be one way concrete slab with concrete beams. Thus the ACI 318 will apply. I'm mostly not sure about what loads to use. Can I use my judgment and set the loads based on AASHTO truck loads and ASCE 7 categories such as manufacturing?

I'd still look to AASHTO for this. You may not need to meet the same durability or fatigue standards (or maybe you do?) but the loading itself would still be accurate. At a minimum I'd design it for an ambulance, probably for a fire truck unless it's physically too small for them to pass or the facility has a well rehearsed plan for emergency response that specifically excludes this path and it's clearly marked with a weight rating.

I agree with Pham about looking at AASHTO. ACI 318 doesn't address bridge design (That would be ACI 343) & ASCE 7-10 doesn't address truck impact the way AASHTO does.

Also, you should check with the AHJ about the live load. There may be a requirement for a particular EV.
