Dear all,

I tried sending a pro/e drawing in dxf format which I wanted it to open in Autocad file. The drawing came in fine in autocad 2000,but after I tried to alter some dimensions in autocad ,it gave a error message and the drawing simply went off the screen.I logged into autocad again and then the same thing happened.
I have given up on this task now.All I want to know is Can it be done?
Thanks in advance.

Cranekiran,

Why not export PRO/E drawing files in dwg format(Autocad native)?

-Hora.

I have exported to DWG and found that the file can be open and edited, but the dimensions do not come in scaled properly. This is a particular problem with multi-sheet drawings at different scales. Make a note of the drawing scale on each sheet. This works well.

Best Regards,
Aron

In Pro/E, you have to change the unit to that you will use in Autocad. I have tried, it is ok.

Cranekiran,

I have had similar problems, the best way I have found to work aroud it is to use edit>copy (use a window to pick all your entities) then paste them into a new drawing.

Good Luck

Hayden

Thanks Hora,

I did try exporting pro/e drawing in DWG File and It was a success.

1)Save the pro/e drawing in Dwg file

2)open in Autocad.

It is surprising it was that easy.
