I am thinking of upgrading from Pro/I 2.0 2000140 to Pro/I 3.0 20001020. I have messed around with the build and have looked at all the TANS SPR's and stuff like this.

Are there any reasons not to upgrade??????

I hate unhappy upgrades %-(

My advance (especially after PTC last product release) would be to wait at least 4 - 6 months after its initial release date. Normally the first couple of 'cuts' are always full of bugs !!!!!

Well, thanks!
Do you know of any issues with this release?
I "heard" that Pro/I 3 can corrupt Pro/E data.
Have you heard the same?

There are various BUGS with Intralink 3.0.
Family tables are a big problem along with a VERY slow workspace. These are known by PTC and a new build is expected sometime in February. I haven't corrupted any files, but you can corrupt a workspace if you don't include generics and instatnces during checkout. This is a major pain due to the PTC Library of fasteners. One assembly checkout will yield about 2,000 to 4,000 parts.
I would wait for a build later then 2001360!

Pro/Intralink 3.0 build 2001200 is very stable... in fact... if you're still on 2.0... now is the time to upgrade... BUT avaoid 3.1 like the plague for the moment (Build 2001360) there are some pretty bad issues... one being that the auto purge for the frame manager totally messes with your workspaces... Sign up on PTC for the TPI's to be sent to e-mail so you can see the issues as they are logged... Daniel Pro/E Specialist
