We just started using Intralink (3 months), I have imported all files. My question is that I imported this one assembly that had a family table of 4 instances, it worked fine, then another user made another instance and checked it in. The problem is if I try to check out this assembly now the new instance is read only and will not let me check it out (unless logged on as admim), but the other instances are ok. Has anybody seen this before and how can I remove read only attribute?

I have a few questions before I can get what's happening here...

This family table Item... are the Instances all in the same folder?... are they all the same release level?... Does the logon you use have access to the folder the instance is in, and release level it is on?... Daniel Pro/E Specialist

I checked and found that the new instance was set at a higher release level than the others, I guess the question now is how do I change the read only access on this higher level so everyone can have access and also this does not happen on more parts or assemblies. If I delete this object release level will it affect other things in Intralink?

Thanks

I tryed to demote like you suggested, but it does not let me do so, after reading the help, things do not happen like the should according to the help files. Two things that I do not get the option to pick the release level to pick from, and also to change the form name text box.

Maybe I have to set up these forms?

Thanks
