Hello to everybody..i work with Abaqus from few time and i have a problem to extract data output from OBD Field Output...if i ask for the results in more than about 300 nodes i get the error message: 'Requested operation will result in creation of a very large number of xyDataObject. Please reduce the number of specified entities using Dysplay Group operation before re-performing this operation'..It happens with all the parameters requested even asking for only one step frame result, and it's strange because if i choose the 'picking from viewport' method to select nodes and i select less than 300 nodes everytime i can extract data results..it looks like a software data limitation..anyone can help me? thanks

Thanks for your answer..my goal is to compute the average stress in several regions of a bone structure and to achieve this i think i have to extract the stress from each region's nodes and then operate on XY data to compute the average...is there another smarter way in your opinion?

Instead of XY data you could generate a report (Menu Bar: Report->Field Output) and work with the generated file on other software, for instance, Matlab, or you can also achieve that through python scripting.

I m not able to use python scripting to extract data result..is it difficult?..i tried to generate the report but thus i extract the nodes stress values of the entire part and i don't know how to recognize and separate the nodes of each interest region from which values i have to compute the average...

If you have in the display only a certain region of the bone, not the whole bone, and then if you generate a report then that report will only have information about that certain region that is on the display.

Therefore, you can generate several report files each one for each region that you want.

Python is not piece of cake, you need to spend some time.

Thank you very much i was not aware that it reports only the displayed region!i will use Matlab to compute the average..thanks again have a good weekend
