That typically comes from the extrapolation of the integration point results to the nodes for visualization. And if it overshoots a lot, then it is a sign that the mesh is too coarse in the areas with high stress gradients.

Use Tools->Query->Probe Value (or button) to look at the Mises stress at the element integration points. There you'll see the actually calculated result.
 
I have already tested the refinement of the mesh, still, much higher than I have given...
 
Then look at the integration point and you'll see the results without extrapolation error.
