Hi,

Is there anyone using ADINA? Please help me.

I'm using ADINA to model an integral abutment bridge. I want to use a coefficient of thermal expansion for an elastic isotropic and orthotropic material (steel, concrete, asphalt).
I have the 7 materials, and a table of their properties changing with temperature. Whenever I put the coefficient into material properties, the program required a temperature file. I don’t know which the format of the temperature file is. Because I have 7 materials so I will also have 7 files of properties vs. temperature. I try with one temperature file and the program reported an error.

I try to search for help in online help and program help, but no use.

Please help me

I have done models of integral abutments using ADINA and had no problems.

If you want to alter properties with temperature I think you need to use thermo isotropic material, not elastic isotropic material etc. Each material is defined separately with a different material number and the material definition includes a table of properties varying with temperature.

hi,

I also tried like you, but Adina require a temperature file to process. I have 7 files , and actually i don't know about the format of the file.

You need to apply a temperature load to all the geometric entities that have material properties varying with temperature. (Model>loading>apply load>load type>temperature).

The error message is only a warning and says it assumes zero temparture by default if no value is set.
