i did same as u suggested..
i converted it into stp file
and imported via igs (file<Import<igs)

but this time i got different error

"Because keypoint merging has not been performed, automatic volume
creation is suppressed"

i tried ur suggestion but this time i got different error

"NUMMRG is not a recognized AUX15 command, abbreviation, or macro.
This command will be ignored."

please help as i need it very urgent

thanks priam for your support

but still its not working

when i enter va,all i got following error

"No area defined to create volume"

Itsounds like you are just pulling in lines. If you type aplot after you import the step it will show you any areas that are there. If there are no areas you'll have to create them by hand by using the 'al' command.

that means is there any problem in my CAT file????

Wat can be done to amend it

I don't know your geometry. either you have a pretty dirty file (crossing lines and ares) or you have only exported lines. what can be done? look at the export option in catia (i don't use it so I am guessing here) try importing as an iges or para solids file.

thanks a lot priam for ur support

one last thing how to convert it intoparasolid file???

the same way you exported to igs, just pick parasolid (x_t or x_b) if it's available.
