Good Morning,

When I open my assembly in CATIA V5, a window with link error appears. This window usually appears when CATIA loses a link with a part or subassy, but in this case everything is linked.
I opened the desk manager and the links are ok. I used catDUA to clear errors but the problem remains.
I don't know how to solve this problem. Can you help me?

Note: The program is managed by SMARTEAM.

Try to open products one by one in Catia and see wich one is giving errors.

I have just done this procedure, none subassy has link problem, so I think the problem is on the Top Assy.

I tried this procedure, but the new Top Product has the same problem as the old one.

The worst one that I've had to deal with is old / ghost links due to Materials, and it sounds like what you are describing. They won't show up in Desk, or in the parts, or in Edit/Links, but will in the parent assemblies sometimes - but only by the warning message! CATDUA won't get rid of them either. This issue seems to be part or product files that have materials applied to the product level in context of some assembly. It thinks that the material assignment is dependent upon the parent assembly product. And the worst is that the link stays persistent, even if the material has been deleted in the past.

If this is the case, the only way we've found to deal with them is to apply new materials in the same way, and then delete the newly applied material. This creates a new link which finally replaces the old bad link. Now you can delete the new material, which deletes the new link. (If this doesn't make sense, I could post a screen shot)

I recall that somebody at my office even made a macro to do this process automatically, though I don't know if that is still floating around here.
