Hi,
I'm facing troubles when I try to run simulations in Explicit in parallel. The simulation doesn't achieve to start giving the following error:
"Abaqus Error: The executable explicit_dp.exe aborted with system error code 3"

You can find attached a screenshot from the commands prompt with the information about the error when the simulation crashes. There is no any error data in the .dat, .msg and .sta files. I couldn't find any information regarding this kind of error, so I would be so grateful if some of you have the answer to this problem.

Thank you!
Regards,

Jorge R.

Does the job run without errors when a single CPU is used ? Have you tried running it with different parallelization settings ?

Yes, the job runs without problems when using a single CPU, and yes, I have also tried to use domain-level parallelization and the same error appears. I didn't try loop-level parallelization since I'm working on a Windows plataform and that option is not available.

Does the error occur regardless of the number of CPUs used in parallelization (for example 2,4) ? It would be best to run the same file on different machine using identical settings.

Yes I tried with different number of CPUs and same problem occurs. And I tried with three different machines and the problem persists. All the three machines are from my place of work, maybe the problem could be related with the installation procedure... any idea?
Thank you!

Such problems are sometimes caused by subroutines. Do you use any in this analysis ?

Yes, I'm using a vumat subroutine. However I've also tried the same simulation without subroutine (using a Von mises Abaqus model), and the same problem happens. I have seen that using single precision instead of double precision (which I was using before), the error is not the same anymore. In this case, the following error is found in the status file:

***ERROR: There is no element available in the model to control the stable
time increment for Step 1. Please add a deformable element to
control the stable time increment. Alternatively, you can use DIRECT
TIME INCREMENTATION to perform the analysis at a user specified time
increment.
