Hi everyone,
I'm studying Nonlinear analysis with patran and marc.
So I modeled non-linear beam problem and set analysis to msc.marc.
I applied Analysis>EntireModel>Fullrun and the message showed working properly
as shown below
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
$# MSC.Marc Version 2008 job submitted locally with: C:\MSC.Software\Marc\2008r1\marc2008r1\bin\marc.exe -j LinearJob1 -dir D:\Nonlinear Cantilever Beam Analysis -b yes -v no
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
However, I tried to monitor job and this message showed
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Trying to monitor a job which may not have been submitted to the solver.\nThis may hang the process until it times out or the job begins, especially if submitted remotely!\nDo you wish to try to monitor the job anyway?
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
and of course, nothing happen, no result , sometime software crashed.

Can anybody guide me how to solve this problem?

Thank in advance.

Try removing the spaces in the directory name you stated, "D:\Nonlinear Cantilever Beam Analysis."

Before:D:\Nonlinear Cantilever Beam Analysis
After:D:\NonlinearCantileverBeamAnalysis

Rerun the analysis and see if it still happens.

This is how I understand Patran to work with Nastran, note that I know you are working with Marc,

After you make your model on Patran, Patran makes a deck, a .bdf file. Then the .bdf file gets sent to Nastran to be solved. I am pretty sure something similar occurs when Patran makes a deck for Marc.

Do you know if Patran is making such a file to be submitted to Marc? If so, try manually opening Marc and feeding it this file. Note if the problem occurs again.

If this fails, I would run another problem that is known to work, say a Marc tutorial from MSC Software (attila.sdsu.edu/mentat2000/training_guide.pdf). This is to ensure the solver actually works.

You can try running this model on another computer with Marc on it and see if the problems comes up again.

You can join forums.mscsoftware.com, and someone there may be able to better help.

Thank for Helping Zeroexperience.

Just now I have modeled with with patran and submited dat-file to marc.
And no probelm found. I could run it.

So I think the problem may cause from setting p3_trans.ini configuration file.
(I set it to file run_marc.bat).
