I’m having problems with a YORK 230 ton air cooled screw machine.
M/N:YCAS0230EC46YFASB
Year:97
Roughly, for the past year, once every three months, it trips out ckt#2 with this fault message: “High DSCH Temp”. Now it is appearing more frequently.
According to troubleshooting guide in the maintenance manual, there are three things to look at: 1. Superheat is too high
2. Blocked air flow
3. Faulty sensor
We have checked all three areas, and they are all with in range
1. The superheat is normally 10-12 and 10-12 on the economizer
2. The condenser coils are clean as a whistle, with all 10 motors running properly
3. The sensors are on the money
We have tried other remedies:
1. Replacing the eprom on the processing board
2. Replacing the compressor’s oil filter
3. Adjusting the charge (removing gas, then adding gas)
4. The factory even came out and looked at it and they could not fix the problem.
This machine is one of three chillers all tied together to cool this facility
This is a link to the IOM
Can you give me any ideas of what we can do?
