Are you concerned with in-service pipe or new pipe?

We are performing field welds on refractory lined piping(Transferline). Normally a pnuematic test is conducted post welding. Do you have such a testing procedure for pnuematic test

We have made two field installations of refurbished refractory pipe in our H2 plant. The procedure has been to inspect all insulation hangers prior to lining the pipe. Make the tie in weld and inspect, 100% radiography and penetrant testing for surface defects. Line the pipe with refractory allow to cure and make up all flanges. At this point we paint the exterior of the piping with heat sensitive paint. The leak test comes when we pressure the whole system with N2 prior to start up.
