Procurement of Gas Compressor Sets

We are having a debate with our EPC contractor over which party should be the prime supplier for gas turbine driven centrifugal compressor sets, that is, the turbine manufacturer or the compressor manufacturer? Our preference is for the compressor manufacturer to take the lead because of the greater process control interfacing, particularly surge control.
Any thought on this one?

I agree, let the compressor manufacturere match the driver. For the most part, the compressor manufacturer already has turbine partners.
