Hello Everyone,

I am new to CATIA and having some problems with few things.

1. I want to have a part design template or macro like every time I want to make a new part or product, the properties shown in the attached file should automatically get populated. I don't want to go to "define other properties" and start adding them again and again for every new part.

2. Next I want to have these properties linked to the title block of the drafting template, like everything added here is shown in the title block. Changing a name or date on the part properties, gets updated on the drawing automatically.

Please guys help me out here. I would really appreciate your inputs on this.

we use additional part properties to fill out title block.
first macro adds additional properties to part, second macro fills out and creates title block

Thank you so much for your reply.

The additional properties file works perfect but I am having problems with the title block one. I am having like zero knowledge of VB or scripting, the error is shown in the attached file.

Kindly have a look.

switch to background and press frame and title block icon. remember you need to change in options macro location or you can drop my macro to C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B24\win_b64\VBScript\FrameTitleBlock

I want to change one thing in the title block script:

-how can i change the location of C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B24\win_b64\VBScript\FrameTitleBlock to some public folder like C:\users\xxxx\documents !

Hi Akhtar,

I want also to do this linked title box with the properties of my part. I was investigated a lot, for a simpler way, since I´m totally new with programming with Catia and I don´t know how Macros work. I have tried to use this files you posted but to be honest I don´t know where and how to use them. I have been looking in books of programming with catia, but It´s taking a lot of time, and I acctually will not be using more programation with catia. I just need to be able to link this part properties to my draft table.

I would apprieciate if you could give me some tips or just the first steps how to use this codes you uploaded, how can I run them so they apply to my part and draft?

akhtar you can put macro everywhere you want. put your macro in desired folder and change in options path to the macro library

Hi Edna,

Sorry for replying late.

There are two files uploaded by Tikito: one is for part properties and other for drafting.

You need to load these files in different work environments. You can add more properties to the part properties file and reference them from drafting.

Since you have mentioned thank you to Tikito, I think you have sorted it out.

run additional properties macro in part design or in assy..title block macro reads those properties. if you forget to run additional properties macro you'll see empty fields in your title block. if you did so run add.properties macro, go back to drawing press title block
and then choose update.
