Hello Guys,
I've tried searching the forums but didn't come across a similar question:

- When is a production test weld required and when are the tests done for Procedure Qualification Record sufficient?

I couldn't find a precise answer to my question in ASME VIII div.1 (that's our design code) - please help.

Just some more info on the actual item in question - the vessel is 10 mm thick, some nozzles are 12mm and MDMT is - 40C. Of course the impact testing is required and it has been performed during the PQR tests but I'm not sure if the production test welds are also necessary (i.e. testing the welds made with same heat materials as to be welded on the vessel itself - my understanding of pr. test welds).

Your advise would be much appreciated.

QCJT;
I am not sure of what you are asking below...

Are you very familar with ASME Section VIII, Div 1 and ASME Section IX? Can you be more specific regarding your question?

Thanks all for comments. Stanweld, that was exactly what I was looking for - thanks.
