I am working on a PSRU (prop speed reduction unit) design for an auto conversion; am having no luck finding specs for the ADN 20010 governor flange and ARP 880 prop flange. Also, can anybody offer help with flow rates and pressures for a "typical" feathering, reversing prop governor ? This is the last piece of this puzzle so I am a bit desperate. This PSRU thing (esp. for a 500 cont. SHP recip !) ain't as easy as it looks...

What specific Specs are you looking for on the 20010 governor flange? Dimentions? a constent speed Hartzell or McCauley Prop will normaly operate on 290 to 320 psi
Cap. is 5-12 QPM ,, I would be happy to help but we have to know the size prop you will be spinning.
 
what's the auto conversion? I'm trying to learn about Subaru auto conv. for aircraft and prop speed reduction units are a big part of that build. If I make the parts cheap enough, eventually the whole plane will be free - right? ;-)

This conversion was going to be based (very loosely) on the block, heads and a (very) few other parts from the 12 cylinder Jaguar unit, opened up to 531 cu. in. and turbocharged. The engineering has been done if anybody out there has the $$$ to test and develop it. My client decided to go turbine on his Lancair IV-P. I'd be happy to correspond on the subject if anybody needs/wants 600+ takeof and 525 cont. HP at 4000 crankshaft RPM (1.8:1 reduction). The prop question I posted has been answered, and we ended up designing a govenor system around some very interesting technology from Scotland...

Some of the Subaru conversions I have looked at are excellent - some are crap. The reduction IS the key, and a belt or planetary gear seems appropriate for that HP class. Belts have fewer issues with torsional vibration, which is the "killer issue" with ANY auto conversion. So be CAREFUL out there !
