So, this is my first post on this forum. The format is different than what I'm used to, so hopefully I'm going about this properly.
I have a 2001 C5 Corvette which I'm considering supercharging. I'm also very interested in using Propane a either a primary, or suplimentary fuel source. The higher octane rating of propane should alow me to run a high boost level without experiencing detonation. I've seen a few set-ups where propane was utilized with forced induction set-ups for this purpose. These set-ups however, were carbureted.
I have found a kit from a company called "powered by propane" that seems like the type of set-up I'm looking for.
The kit however only supports up to 380hp. The company said hp was limited by the heat exchanger (I believe).
Could the heat exchange process be modified to allow for higher volume? Is it possible to run gasoline and propane at the same time? What type of tuning problems might this present? This particular kit is designed to run either, but not at the same time. It has propane injectors that "piggyback" off of the fuel injectors' signals. It then adjusts this signal through a computer, and optimizes it for the propane injectors.
Any help/opinions on this would be greatly appreciated. I do have some more questions concerning this subject, but I'll wait and see if anyone has any interest in helping me with this first.
