I remember when Y14.5 Standard for Dimensioning and Tolerancing first was introduced, the term applied for the tolerance of a hole location defined by basic dimensions was "True Position". Later, the term was changed and became "Position". Does anyone know if it has been changed back to "True Position" and/or what the current proper term is?

The term "true position" is still used in ASME Y14.5-1994.

Everyone using this std should have a copy of it.

ANSI Y14.5M-1982, ASME Y14.5M-1994 and ISO 1101-1983 all define the symbol of a circle with cross-hairs across it as Position.

in both copies of Y14.5M, True Position is defined as "The theoretically exact location of a feature established by basic dimensions."

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

looslib is correct.

The tolerance zone is located at true (exact) position, and the feature is located within that tolerance zone, thus a hole "is at true position within .xxx dia" would be an acceptable statement.
