Hi all,

Reference page 2-18 in MIL-5H and MMPDS, Table 2.3.1.0(c2.

Properties for MIL-T-6736 in the first two columns are different, but the wall thkns is the same; is this a typo?

Also the third column has higher properties for 'all walls'. I am a stress analyst and not a metallurgist, but I thought that, in general, properties could be expected to diminish with increasing thickness. Does 'all walls' mean walls of any thickness? I would appreciate some help in understanding this data more clearly.

Thanks and regards.

Lcubed,

The SAE standards are based on minimum mechanical properties:

AMS 6361 = 125 ksi
AMS 6362 = 150 ksi
AMS-T-6736 = 180 ksi

There is no metallurgical anomaly.

Thanks TVP,
Can you explain the term 'all walls' to me? Does this mean any thickness?

Thanks

Lcubed

Yes, this is supposed to be any thickness.
