B31.1 provides allowable stresses for A283 grade C at temperatures upto 650F. Does anyone have tensile, yield and 100000hour creep rupture data for temperatures above 650F.

The reason for asking for this data is that we are trying to evaluate the impact of temperature excursions from 335C to 415C on some turbine exhaust pipework. These temperature excursions occur during a hot start upand will last for 15 minutes: if they last any longer we will trip the turbine

Best regards,

athomas236;
The only advice I can offer to help is a report that I was able to locate over the internet titled;

"A Overview of Fire Protection in Buildings" authored by James Milke and was part of an Appendix A in a larger report from FEMA (the US Federal Emergency Management Agency) concerning the World Trade Center Collapse.

Despite the title, this report contained actual tensile properties and strength reduction factors for structural steel (A-36, but similar to A 283 Grade c) exposed to elevated temperatures (heat from fire).

metengr,

Thanks a lot, information comes from the strangest of places.
