I have a precast concrete building where the exterior wall will have a large hole cut out of it. The wall is reinforced with WWF. It is 5 inches thick. The wall has an exterior exposure. I have 2 questions:
1. What would be the recommended way of protecting the WWF of the saw cut face from corroding? I was thinking of painting the face with an epoxy primer and then a finish coat. I don't want the ends of the WWF to start rusting and staining or rusting and popping.
2. On a cast-in-place exposed edge of concrete I would typically call out for a chamfer. Is there a way to treat the corner edge of the saw cut to prevent shipping of the concrete?
Thanks for your assistance.
