Hy guys,
i'0m talking about 45 MW turbomachinery and i'm tring to decide the best installation for vibration sensors on all components.

Because i found lot of discussion about, i'd like to know your opinion about this question:
[ul]
[li]pickup shaft movements with proximitor (#2@45° on vertical line or other solution) or take vibrations from bearing-cap velocimeter?[/li]
[/ul]
I't is clear that both should be the best but consider possibility to install once, what do you will choose and why?

Regards

If machine has journal bearings with holes in bearing housings for proximity probes, is already installed or about to be, and does not have proximity probes installed, then install proximity probes. Otherwise install accelerometer/velocity sensors on bearing housing. Obviously sensors on bearing housing are easier to install with less expense, but may not provide adequate vibration data; depending on requirements. You should clearly state your requirements!

Yes Strong,

the question is, with this two type of sensors which one provide more exhaustive data information of a machinery problems can occur?

Select Proximity probe for journal bearings.
