Dear All,
Just want to get the clear interpretation regarding the test temperature for Vessel PTP.
Background
Vessel Thk Is 150mm
Mdmt is -7Degree
Material(plate). Test @-29degree
Accordance to Sec 8 Div2 Para 3.11.8.4 below
'When the base material or welding procedure qualification requires impact testing, impact tests of welds and
heat-affected zones shall be made for Category A and B joints in accordance with 3.11.8.2 for each qualified welding
procedure used on each vessel. '
3.11.8.2(e)
'(e) The test temperature for welds and heat-affected zones shall not be higher than for the base materials.'
Questions
1- Is it word 'shall not be higher' refer to warmer of temperature?
2- What the test temperature should i conduct for the PTP? MDMT temperature or follow the MTC temperature?
Thanks in advance for clarification.
