Hey everyone,
I don't know whether or not this is the correct forum to be posting on for this question, however I'll see how I go.
I'm currently planning on building a pulse jet (my first one), and, after spending an extensive amount of time digging through the internet, i finally found a suitable design that doesn't require the need for a valved mechanism. The ‘Lockwood-Hiller’ design sounds like the easiest to construct.
However, I am having some problems. I plan on using this design (as shown in the attached photo) to base mine off.
Firstly, I'm hung up on what steel to use, 304, 321 or 316? I understand that they are all slightly different alloys of one another however it would be much appreciated if I could get some advice from someone who knows more about steel then what I do.
Secondly, as seen in the design, the U-tube at the end of the jet has a few different dimensions. This is my biggest roadblock in this whole process since i don't understand how to read them. I know that to any engineers or fabricators out there, this is probably a silly question, but I need help since I can't make any progress before I figure this out.
If anyone is willing to reply to this thread, please attach a link to the correct U-tube as stated in the plans for this design.
