Hello Everyone,
I am currently working on a prototype to check if my idea works. I would really appreciate if you can answer my question.

I am trying to fill two small ballons using one small pump. The idea is to inflate the baloons with different volume of air. And when the pump is idle I want to maintain the ballons inflated without leakage of air. A tiny leakage is allowed which can be periodically regulated by the pump.

The initial Idea I had was to include two valves. The first valve will be a 2 way valve which is normally closed and sits right after the pump. The second valve is a 3 way diversion valve which sits right after the two way valve.

Steps involved to fill first ballon:
1. Switch on the pump
2. Open the 2 way valve
3. Set position 1 in diversion valve till the required volume is filled. Then close the two way valve and then the pump.

Similarly for the secondd ballon. One condition I have to respect is to control everything electronically. Other possibility is to include two pumps with two 2 way valves independently.

Is my idea going to work or is there a better way to simplify my idea? If I missed out an information needed I would be glad to give it PLease ask.

Thanks in advance

Could you use one valve, a three position valve? Center is off, right is one balloon, left is the other balloon. I assume from your description that both balloons are not filled at the same time.

I have tried looking for those kind of valves which is normally closed but did not find any. The three way valve i found online was a deviation type two position valve. here is the example :

If you know of any 3 position 3 way valve which is normally closed, it would be heelpful for me.

yes you are right the balloons are not filled in the same time.

Nice idea, I can probably use a single 4 way 3 position valve and plug one of the inputs.
