Hi, just wanted some guidance on stopping off-gassing within a VCM road pump due to the hot weather in the UK. Providing calculations for the heat transfer onto the pumps due to the sun and some solutions to stop this; i.e Coatings, Insulation, Shading of the area.
Thanks guys,
Rhys

Vinyl Chloride Monomer?

In operation or stationary?

All those things? Solar is generally about 1kW/m2.

Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

Evacuation of liquified gas during pump downtime.

Yes Vinyl Chloride Monomer, is there anything you would recommend I can put in place to help prevent this from occurring

Hi,
You may find pointers in the link underneath.

You may want to consider an enclosure around the pump, a caption of vapor and treatment using activated carbon.
Check whether to can dispose the spent AC and make sure to monitor the temperature within the bed to prevent auto ignition.

Good luck
Pierre

Pump product exit should be from the top of the pump casing to allow vapor trapped in the casing to escape on pump start. The suction line should be free from high point pockets that trap vapor also.

VCM is a trick fluid. VCM pumps are linked with cold VCM storage tanks working at -5°C; it must have a small equalizing line to cool down up to the operating temperature. Other licenses use propylene as a coolant coming from the cooling system of the VCM tank.
