Hi All
I have a worn shaft of LPG Pump, which I am trying to rebuild with Belzona 1221 coating. The pump is a multistage centrifugal type, which will have a LPG suction pressure of 4 - 6bar and discharge pressure of 12 - 18bar. Is it advisable to go for rebuilding the shaft or should I go for replacement.

Where is the damage? Extent of damage? Is it in the seal or bearing location? What is the shaft material?

@metenger: wear is in impeller mounting portion and discharge end casing area. Shaft material is AISI420

@MJCronin: Belzona representative has suggested 1111 super metal.

I would use the 1111 and try the rebuild, but at the same time order the replacement.
If the repair lasts a couple of months then you will just put the new one in.
If it lasts a year then you are still ready. It is hard to tell with repairs like this how they will hold up.

Belzona repairs depend highly on surface preparation and cleanliness. Make sure you look at the consequence should the Belzona fail, especially at the discharge end of the pump while in operation.
