Has anyone used or experience with Kaowool Pumpable insultation?

I have three, 20 year old Heat Recovery Steam Generators with numerous hot spots. Many of the hot spots are in inexcessable areas.

Thank You

I have use pumpable refractory a couple of times, but not on a HRSG. Worked fine for our purposes.

When you say inaccessible, do you mean internally, externally or both?

Internal access in areas were the tube banks and baffels are located is impractal. Access would require moving large tube banks, and then the inner skin.

Externall access is for the most part un-restricted.

The internal stainless steal liner plantes are in good shape, no repairs necessary.

I am able to drill through the outer casing wall (or cut through if need be).

I recommend that. On many repair jobs we have to cut our casing and it never seems to cause any problems. You may not even need to use pumpable refractory.

Are these hotspots that have just developed over time or what is causing them if your liners are all in good shape?

Rain water enters the upper HRSG through steam pipe penatrations. The rain water over time has degraded the mineral wool insulation.
