does 3 or more pumps of the same size in parallel series add
to the gpm's?

Yes, but if it is an existing system it is very unlikely to be 3 times the flow rate.

When you add pumps together, remember that the system curve dictates what the actual flow will be. Artisi is correct in saying that it will be unlikely you will have 3 x pump flow.

The curves are additive, but the system will dictate the actual flow performance.

I made this curve for a system we have in my facility. The numbers are a little off, but it works for illustrating the situation.
