Dear All,

do you agree that for pumps installed in series.. when any of the pumps can be in standby and provide with a bypass MOV and a regular check valve, the complete pump's system design pressure shall fully rated for the discharge design pressure downstream the last pump in order to account for poitential check valve failure on the bypass affecting the preceding pumps and leading them to experience the full final discharge pressure.

The above is surely in absence of any PSV in between the pumps.

Regards,

Please just draw a little sketch here. Where is the check valve? ON the bypass or on the discharge line? A drawing will tell us faster than writing it.
