Hello, I'm learning ABAQUS at my new position. I have much more time with other simulation softwares, just trying to learn the picks and clicks with this interface (of which there are many).

I'm currently tasked with applying a nonlinear pressure curve from excel data. There are pressure values (normal to surface) that change with distance through a curved object. The curve's profile serves as the x value in distance (not x in the standard CYS). I was experimenting with using the equation, but I'm not sure how to relate it to the curve other than using a basic polynomial equation that almost fits the data, but not quite as it is quite noisy and nonlinear. Any advice on how to start or where to look? Thanks.

You may have to use the DLOAD subroutine to define this nonuniform distributed load. You can find the description of this subroutine (along with some examples) in the documentation.

Thanks for the reply. DLOAD would definitely work, but it might be overkill for this problem. After experimenting, I found the result I wanted by creating a Field to apply the load to in the amplitude selection. When making the field, I could directly copy and paste my X,Y,Z values with the magnitudes for pressure, then I set the pressure on the surface to 1 while referencing the field. It worked perfectly.
