Hi everybody,

I am looking for information related to PWHT range of temperatures and cycle details for carbon steel. This part will be coated with thermal sprayed with ceramic material. Will this kind of coating influence the prior PWHT parameters? Is there something metalurgically important that we have to be take into account?
Thanks.

Post weld heat treatment ranges used by most Codes and Standards is 1100 deg F minimum to 1200 deg F and held at PWHT temperature for 1 hour per inch of either base metal thickness if a full penetration weld or weld deposit thickness for partial penetration and fillet welds.

dear metengr,

but is any difference in the ranges applied during PWHT if you are going to carry out thermal spraying or not aferwards?

regards
