Hi expert, so i have been given this tast about pWPS PQR AND WPS they say i have to reseach on it what it is i have no idea and my job is in welding zone

actually we are required to make a WPS for our car chassis and battery pack and we follow AWS SO First i need basic info about this thing and then i am gonna make all the wps for different position

Your job is in welding and you dont know what a (p)WPS, PQR and WPQ are? Apart from the obvious info available for free on the internet (e.g.), what do you expect from us when you have been assigned or taken a job in a field you dont know the basics of?

Mr. thats why there is a word internee who learns in begining and that why they gave me a task to learn on wps pqr etc and so far i am learning ,,

If you've been assigned that task, I suggest you propose your boss he should grant you some budget for education & training, and you have to go start looking for a basics course or training in welding first. We're happy to help you here, also if you would return later on with more detailed questions, but such questions now asked are too basic (and therefore impossible to answer within the limited time constraints most members have to provide their input here).

Learning for this should have started in school. I am happy to share knowledge but I will not give my time to train people who didn't plan on becoming welding engineers and who will then eat my bread.

I have two recommendations:
1) attend an one week seminar offered by the American Welding Society that prepares a person for the Certified Welding Inspector's examination. The first part of the seminar covers the fundamentals of welding technology. Then they spend a day reviewing either D1.1 or API 1104. D1.1 in my opinion has more applications than API 1104. The last day covers visual inspection of welds and a primer on WPSs, PQRs, and welder qualification.
2) attend a three day seminar that is marketed as "The Atlas of Welding Procedure Specifications. It spends three days on the subject of developing a PWPS, recording data on the PQR, developing a WPS for production, and qualifying the welder.

There is an on-line class coming up in August on the subject of welding procedures, how to qualify a WPS by testing and documenting the effort, i.e., PQR, and how to qualify a welder. It is generic, that is, it is applicable to AWS, ASME, and NAVSEA. You can get more information by visiting the AWS website and searching for their publication "Inspection Trends". There is some contact information in the notice regarding the class "The Atlas of Welding Procedure Specifications". The class fills quickly, so you need to register early to reserve a seat. You come here trying to crowd-source your new job. Welding engineering is not learned by taking a course or two. Tell your boss to retain an actual specialist.

I am all about sharing knowledge and experience, but throughout my career I have had my bread stolen by amateurs and their bosses who believe that welding engineering is a matter of filling in a few forms, so do you expect me to take out time to endorse that and help you compound that situation?

Just remember that WPS means Whoops, and after you complete a weld, you holler out real loud, "WHOOPS!", and the welding inspector will come and inspect your weld.

With all due respect, those are all clichés, none which can substitute for a proper course of post-secondary study followed by an apprenticeship.

Budget about 10 years for that.
