High-pressure water jet technology and wet blast technology have received extensive attention and application due to its high efficiency and environmental protection characteristics.
SSPC TU 1 defines surface-tolerant coatings which are suitable for wet blast or high-pressure water jet treatment. However, no test standards for surface tolerant coatings are available.
For example, ISO 12944-4 includes water jetting and pressurized-liquid blast-cleaning, but in ISO 12944-6 "Laboratory performance test methods" the panel surface shall be prepared by blast-cleaning to minimum surface preparation grade Sa 2½ as defined in ISO 8501-1. High-pressure water jet technology and wet blast technology are not mentioned in ISO 12944-6.So which standard should be followed for laboratory testing of surface tolerant coatings?
Thanks a lot.
