Hello Great Minds!
1. I need a quality AC power supply with a phase angle control. I bought an SCR power supply but the output is not good enough at all for my project.
I get as much as 40V output when the SCR is not fired while applying a voltage of about 240V at the input. I need output of the SCR to be zero or very nearly zero when
the SCR is not fired. Anyone knows the quality power supply that can give me this result or is there something I can easily do on my SCR supply?
2. See image below. Would an IGBT or Thyristor stay blocked(open) to current flow in whatever direction the current is flowing from, as long as the gate signal is turned off?
I know that current will not flow from one direction if the gate is not turned on, but not sure if current will or will not flow from the opposite direction.
What device can be used to ensure no current flow in either direction when gate is turned off?
Kind Regards
