Query about UGNx part family

Hi,

I have created part family template for a part wear plates. After I create a particular part family member and copied it to another folder. How can I modify this part family member, being it part family member it is read only. How to convert part family member into normal part so that I can modify.

Try doing a 'Save As'.

In NX part family we cannot edit the part family members as like ProE.

Whatever changes you need to apply to the part family member, those should be done through master model only.

You can always do the 'Save-As' but the resulting file will no longer be recognized as a member of a family.

Thanks for your advise. I do the same as you advised. I m looking for an option like with one click we can change read only file into editable file, without doing save as.

That's not possible, at least I'm unaware of any mechanism to do that. A part family member cannot be edited and still remain a family member. If we allowed that, there would be no way to protect those edits from being removed the next time that part family member was updated from the family master template file.
