Question about using thermal camera for temperature measurements in a laser processing environment

I am working on laser process where I would like to measure online temperature measurements using a IR thermal camera. I am worried about the safety of the device from any scattered laser radiation. The laser type is also IR (0.9 micron to 1 micron). Would like to know about the precautionary measures I need to take to safeguard the device.

IR thermal camera is opaque to wavelengths shorter than 7um
your camera will be fine

Porbably, but not guaranteed. Many LWIR antireflective coatings do have some MWIR and visible transmission, but there's only concern if the laser were to enter the optics directly. Reflections during processing are not an issue.
