Hey there. I am looking for a piece of hardware that functions like a seatbelt buckle. It must, however, function with cordage instead of webbing. hopefully it will be cylindrical in shape. It must be "somewhat" sturdy and light weight - rated to ~200#.

I need to join two cords (1/8" spectra) under a tension. what this means is that the latch must engage without much relaxation in the line. The cords are fixed length, as is the spanned distance. I tried to use caribeaner- type joiner, but once the reciever settled onto the loop, the line was slack. or it woudl be too difficult to join in the first place.

something like this:

but intended for load holding would be sweet.

any ideas?

Or the bolt mechanism in the M16. But do it so it doesn't jam.

update:
I am going with snap shackles and custom "guy line adjusters".

thanks all for your input! I am very happy with the results, and may not have gotten there without your input!

Thanks for the update! It is always interesting to hear how things work out
